School Closure December 2016

On Friday 16th December, KMDAF sadly closed its studio doors for the final time as Miss Kelly is relocating to Exeter. I am proud of the children and will miss them tremendously. Never stop dancing starlets.

New Classes for 2016

Starting in January 2016 KMDAF will now be offering classes in Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Pom Dance, Musical Theatre, Twinklesteps baby ballet and Zumba

Miss Kelly had the pleasure of spending a weekend in November with Ryan Jenkins, famous chorographer and founder of the new Contemporary dance syllabus ID Dance. Classes will start to follow this syllabus in January 2015.

Our students took part in their first big show production held at Bradon Forest Theatre.  The starlets were amazing onstage and backstage I couldnt be prouder of any of them! Kingsmead Care Home residents performance

26th May 2015

A handful of students came together to deliver a lovely dance recital. The residents got to enjoy some lovely dancing in Street dance, Contemporary, Lyrical and Pom from our youngest srydents at 3 years to our teens 13 years.  The kids did a fantastic job with their new routines and it was really lovely for the residents to watch.. Great job starlets!

 

Miss Kelly dances with Prima ballerina Darcey Bussell

12th April 2015

 

On the 11th and 12th April, Miss Kelly spent 2 days at Royal Ballet School in London dancing with the legndary Darcey Bussell. This was to audition as a DDMIX Instructor, a brand new dance fitness programme created by Darcey Bussell and Nathan Clarke.

 

 

100% PASS RATE ON DANCE EXAMS

28th March 2015

 

We are delighted to have had a 100% pass rate on our recent IDTA Street Dance exams!! For many of the students this was their first time ever taking an examination some students having only been with us for a couple of months. 

Miss Kelly was so proud of the professionalism from all the students, the examinor even made a side comment of how 'well turned out and disciplined'' our children are! 

 

Whats on for Juniors 2015

We are delighted to have found out we have been nominated and made it through to the  voting stges for a Whats on for Juniors award in the "Best local activity for children 5-12" section.

 

Street Dance Exams

Febuary 2015

 

We are delighted to have had 30 students sign up to take their first set of street dance exams which is booked for 28th March. Our babys will be taking their first rosettes, Juniors their stardance and teens one dance. Good luck kids, time to work hard!

 

OUR STUDIO MIRRORS

14th January 2015

 

Using the money raised by our lovely students Miss Kelly accepted delivery of our new portable studio mirrors. To make sure they always remain a part of the childrens lifes, every child who participated in fundraising was to sign the back of the mirrors so they will forever belong to them.

 

NEW ZUMBA CLASS

13th January 2015

 

Starting on Tuesday 13th January Zumba comes to St Marys!

If your New Years resoloution was to get in shape then come along to a class and have a proper giggle whilst doing it! 

Miss Kelly currently teaches Zumba freelance at various gyms across Swindon and these classes are well attended. 

 

These classes are only £4 for the hour and only £3 to current parents of KMDAF students.

 

And the grand total is...

After totalling up all the ticket sales, raffle ticket sales, fun run money, donations and cake sales moneys, the Grand total we raised for the mirrors was £863.80!!!  This is a phenomenal amount of money and more then enough for our mirrors which have been ordered and should be at the studio in 2 weeks time.

Fantastic Fun Run

14th December

 

3 of our lovely Teen girls at KMDAF took it upon themselves to organise and run a sponsered 5K with all donations going towards our mirror fund (to purchase portable studio mirrors for our St Marys Venue) 

Miss Kelly went along to support the girls and cheer them on and is so proud of them. 

 

KMDAF does THRILLER

31st October 2014

 

Miss Kelly and 23 of our dancers from age 3-48 were asked to secretly perform a flashmob at Kidz About Haloween party 2014. The dancers all met secretly every week throughout October to create a spooktacular perfromance to Michael Jacksons "Thriller" The guests were pleasntly suprised and Miss Kelly could not be more proud of every dancer who participated. Especially some of our Baby Street Dancers who only being with KMDAF for 1 term with no performance experience performed brilliantly to a crowd of nearly 700 people

 

ZUMBATHON for Swindon Mental Health Charity SUNS

11TH October 2014

 

Miss Kelly and Paul teamed up to present a 3 hour Zumbathon to raise funds for a local mental health charity Swindon SUNS. A great time was had by all and nearly £700 raised! FANTASTIC WORK EVERYONE!

 

Miss Kelly warms up the runners

19th October 2014

 

On a bright sunny Sunday October morning over 200 people ran either 5k or 10k to raise funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Miss Kelly was asked to warm up the runners with a 15 minutes Zumba warm up! After the warm up Miss Kelly, who does not run, completed the 5k circuit at Lydiard Park in 26 minutes. A great day was had by all and alot of money raised for the charity which is what it's all about.

 

KMDAF Launch 2014

1st Septemner 2014

 

A free dance party was held for all ages to mark the relaunch of Kelly-Marie's Dance and Fitness. Miss Kelly had a lovely cake made with the KMDAF logo on it and made personal loom bands for each child who attended in the KMDAF colours. 

 

Over 30 children attended the free dance party which included party games, party dances, disco lights, balloon animals and a routine for all to learn to Jessie J's PriceTag.
