It’s hard to remember a time when dance was not a part of my life. I joined a local dance school at the tender age of 4 where I took classes in Ballet, Tap and Theatre craft. I took numerous exams with the IDTA and competed in various dance competitions.  I loved it but I openly admit I was not the best dancer in the school, but the enjoyment and satisfaction I took away from each class led to me studying dance throughout education at GCSE and A Level. It was at this time when I discovered Contemporary Dance and knew I had found my forte.  The freedom that this style of dance evokes really resonated with me and I felt I had found my talent. On a second succesful audition I was later accepted to represent my county of Surrey in the Surrey County Youth Dance Company and being awarded the Riverhouse Barn Award in Contemporary dance. I performed frequently in solo and duet Contemporary pieces later leading to being accepted on scholarship to Rambert Dance Company’s summer program where we worked closely with Kylie Minogue to create a finished piece. 

 

I continued to explore dance into my early twenties, attending classes in Commercial and Street Dance at Pineapple Dance Studios where I auditioned regularly and succesfully for work as a backing dancer.

 

Upon returning from a season working as a dancer abroad, I took the leap into starting up my own dance school, after successfully passing my Associate degrees with the International Dance Teachers Association in Freeystyle and Street Dance.

 

My philosophy is simple; Everyone deserves the chance to dance. If it makes you feel good, do it again. I keep this philosophy at the forefront of my mind whilst conducting every class I teach for children and adults alike, providing a unique friendly atmosphere allowing students and participants the freedom to explore dance in a relaxed setting.
